Rosanna Leocata (with spouse)
Terra Nova (2006)
I know when I first saw this game, my mind immediately went to the short-lived Fox show of the same name. The board game, though, carried the much drier theme of fence building. This game uses area control, where you move your pioneers around the board and place border markers. The long and short is that the more land you control, the more points you score. It plays relatively quick and I can see it being a good break or in-between game for those longer game sessions.
Rosanna Leocata is an Italian game maker. As with many things related to these articles, it is difficult to find information on her. Her BGG page is sparse and only provides minimal information. I found that she worked on this game with her spouse. They were originally discovered at an Italian game convention and, after sharing their idea, they were approached to publish their game. This game is called Squeeky (2003). The following year Terra Nova won the Premio Archimede award. There seems to be no word on any current games in production.
